Long before there was ThisWayWorks Creative, there was simply a desire to create.
Meet Emmanuel and Emily Lucima. They have always been drawn to stories, music, design, photography, and helping people bring meaningful ideas to life. Together, they discovered that creativity wasn’t simply a profession—it was one of the ways they could serve people, strengthen communities, and faithfully steward the gifts God had entrusted to them.
Over the years, they have had the privilege of partnering with churches, nonprofits, businesses, artists, and community organizations, helping transform vision into brands, experiences, and stories that strengthen people and communities. Through creative strategy, storytelling, live production, photography, design, and creative direction, God began shaping not only what they created, but how they created.
For many years, Joshua 3 has been an anchor Scripture in their lives. The words, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you,” became a reminder to trust God with what He was building.
More than a decade later, while rebranding ThisWayWorks Creative and exploring the flamingo as the company’s icon, they returned to Joshua 3 and kept reading. They were struck by the image of the priests stepping into the Jordan before the waters parted. Like flamingos standing confidently in the water, they sensed God reminding them that faith often means taking the first step before seeing the miracle.
From that moment, ThisWayWorks became more than a creative business it became a way of faithfully stewarding the ideas, stories, and opportunities God entrust to us.
Today, Emmanuel and Emily combine Emmanuel’s experience in creative leadership, live production, video, music, and brand strategy with Emily’s two decades of creative direction, product development, and brand design. Together, they partner with businesses, nonprofits, churches, artists, and communities to help meaningful ideas become meaningful realities.
